Join the CJI Staff Team

Witnessing the power of Restorative Justice, I became a strong proponent of using restorative practices in response to many kinds of crime and conflict.

Chris Cowie
Executive Director

Community Justice Initiatives has a vibrant staff culture that celebrates the diverse contributions of each of our team members. Most of our staff have university or college degrees in fields such as sociology, psychology, peace and conflict studies, social services, and criminology. We work hard, laugh lots, and strive to live out restorative justice principles as we relate to each other, our volunteers, and our clients.

Peggy LaFlamme

Volunteer Coordinator
I have been CJI’s Volunteer Coordinator since 2007. Through my role, I recruit, screen, select, train and advocate for volunteers. My educational background is in Child Psychology and Early Childhoo...

During our 40+ year history, we have continuously responded to community needs by creatively, and innovatively applying restorative justice principles to new problems. We believe the only limit to the power of restorative justice is the capacity of the human heart to change and grow.
