This piece reconstructs Lady Justice through a transformative lens—ungendered, unblinded, and disarmed. The scales are no longer something to hold over others, but something to sit with.
Designed by someone directly impacted by incarceration, this artwork challenges dominant ideas of fairness, punishment, and balance—and asks us to imagine something different.
Because justice should be questioned, not assumed. Wear the question. Start the conversation.

“When I designed it, I was coming from a perspective of lady justice being exhausted, taking off the blindfold and setting down her sword and sitting on her scale wondering if it’s time for change. I chose a gender neutral person for inclusion and also for a symbol for change. I used black and gray for the rigid thinking that still grips people”.
