    Shelley Schanzenbacher

    Restorative Workplace and Schools Coordinator
“Out beyond the ideas of wrong doing and right doing, there is a field — I’ll meet you there.” Rumi Being a lifelong member of Waterloo Region, I have finally landed my dream job and having the opportunity to be part of an amazing group of trailblazers within the CJI Community. As the Restorative Schools Program Coordinator, I have the opportunity to offer school communities an alternative to the conventional system that is currently in place, a chance for participants to restore and rebuild their relationships. The bulk of my career was in the corporate sector where I worked in the Canadian retail sector for over 25 years. I am a certified Co-Active Executive coach and a graduate of the CTI Master Leadership program. I hold a certificate in Conflict Resolution and Mediation and Peace Circles. In my time away from my work you can find me perfecting my golf game, hiking and enjoying time with my life partner Charlotte and our amazing friends and family.

During our 40+ year history, we have continuously responded to community needs by creatively, and innovatively applying restorative justice principles to new problems. We believe the only limit to the power of restorative justice is the capacity of the human heart to change and grow.
